We just got back from a cruise around the north and south, and just loved it! Can’t wait to get back, rent a car and dive further into the country. Kerikeri and Northland sound beautiful (Paihia was one of our cruise ports) – I would LOVE to get to Rainbow Falls and Puketi Kauri Forest. Kawiti Glow Worm Caves sounds amazing too – and I agree with you, I’m totally up for the more off the beaten path attractions than those mass tourism swarms to!
